Stephen Collins Once Slammed a Jessica Biel Photo Spread as "Child Pornography"
Today in Ironic News That Makes You Feel a Little Bit Like You Might Vomit, accused child molester Stephen Collins once publicly shamed his 17-year-old 7th Heaven co-star Jessica Biel for doing a racy photo shoot for a now-defunct men's magazine.
Biel covered the March 2000 issue of Gear magazine, topless, but covered up. The shot was controversial, but far from scandalous and the magazine enjoyed higher-than-average sales.
But Collins, whom Biel reportedly regarded as a a sort of father figure, was thoroughly disgusted by the photos of his teenage co-star and repeatedly made his thoughts known to the public.
"Jessica's photo spread was child pornography," Collins said in an interview shortly after the issue hit newsstands. "I don't want my kid to get the message that's okay. As a parent of a young child, that's very disturbing to me."
Regardless of whether or not the images were, as Collins says, "pornographic" the real story 14 years later is the astonishing irony of a man who's been accused of contemplating oral sex with his own child condemning anything as inappropriate.
On Tuesday, audio tape of Collins admitting to child molestation was released online. The veteran actor has yet to be arrested, but will likely soon face criminal charges.
