Viewers were treated to Maggie's terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day on Grey's Anatomy Season 11 Episode 2.
Yes, this was an hour dedicated to Meredith's half-sister.
It was also dedicated to Meredith being mean to Maggie, as illustrated when the latter just tried to talk to Derek (and brought up D.C., ouch) and later when Maggie demanded Meredith at least make eye contact when they speak to each other.
Only... a singing telegram then arrived from her adoptive parents. A singing sturgeon telegram, to be exact. That sort of ruined the intense moment. (But made us laugh!)
At least Maggie appeared to bond Jo - after screaming at her about how kind, young, pretty women like themselves have to “bring the thunder” at work in order to be taken seriously.
However, Maggie then congratulated Alex in the board seat in front of an about-to-be-fired Dr. Butthole, who ended up firing Alex and, in turn, Maggie axed Jo from her service.
Temporarily, anyway
Maggie couldn’t help but eventually forgive Jo when the resident spoke in awe about how Maggie had learned “a crap ton" in just one day.
Maggie also showed interest in genetics, which got Bailey excited, sending her to the locked-up genome lab in the process. But, yes, this had a down side, too:
Suddenly, Pierce was in trouble with Owen. She also went off on Jackson before realizing what an important position he holds at Grey Sloan.
Still, Maggie's renewed investigation into the mysterious case of the McNeils – that unfortunate family Cristina treated on Grey's Anatomy Season 10 – yielded actual results: Genetics were to blame for the kids cardiomyopathy diagnoses! Progress!
But there was no breaking the Meredith barrier for Maggie, especially not after she let an elderly cancer patient die (per the wishes that the patient’s daughter wouldn’t grant).
Meredith, after learning the facts, took Maggie’s side, inspiring Maggie to blurt out the truth about their mother. But Meredith was hearing none of it. She stormed away and said she wanted nothing to do with Maggie.
Elsewhere, Callie and Arizona fought about the latter’s desire to accept the fellowship with Dr. Herman, considering their baby plans. In the end, Arizona decided to it turn down; at which point, of course, Callie said that she ought to go for it.
What did everyone else think about these turns of events? Watch Grey's Anatomy online to keep track of them all and respond simply: Do you like Maggie?
