Chelsea Clinton is a mother for the first time. The global activist and former First Daughter, 34, welcomed a baby girl with her husband Marc Mezvinsky!
“Marc and I are full of love, awe and gratitude as we celebrate the birth of our daughter, Charlotte Clinton Mezvinsky,” Clinton wrote late Friday night.
Months after announcing she and Mezvinsky hoped to make 2014 the “Year of the Baby,” Chelsea, confirmed in April that the couple were expecting.
“I certainly feel all the better whether it’s a girl or a boy that she or he will grow up in world filled with so many strong female leaders,” she said.
Appropriately, Bill and Hillary Clinton's only child made the announcement at a Clinton Foundation event for the empowerment of girls and young women.
Her mom, the former Secretary of State, has been excited for the arrival, stockpiling kids' books and planning to have a car seat in her own vehicle.
“I want to babysit any chance I get!” the former First Lady said at a political gathering in September, “Bill and I are on constant grandchild watch.”
Chelsea kept a busy pace at the Clinton Global Initiative just days before Charlotte’s arrival. Hopefully now she'll get some well needed rest (just kidding)!
