After saying accepting Ben Seewald's marriage proposal and getting engaged last month, Jessa Duggar of 19 Kids and Counting already has her wedding plans set.
For Saturday, November 1! Of this calendar year!
"I am super excited," Jessa says of her upcoming nuptials to her boyfriend/fiance of just over a year now. "Everybody has really been pitching in."
She does have a lot of hands to help, at least ...
Duggar family dating rules don't specifically state that you can't have a long engagement, but it seems like an unwritten one, 'cause they move right along!
As her older sister did just a few months ago, Jessa Duggar and Ben Seewald will share wedding vows and their very first kiss on their big day.
They have already sent out the invites, picked the colors and bridal party, and have the bridesmaids' dresses on hand. And Jessa's dress, of course.
"I put it on, looked in the mirror, and it hit me," Jessa says of that magical wedding detail, and at that moment, she knew, "I'm going to be a bride."
And very likely with child by New Year's.
Jessa's parents, Jim Bob Duggar, 49, and Michelle Duggar, 47, have helped with the couple's wedding plans and are getting excited for the nuptials.
"I tell you it is very busy," Jim Bob says of his 21-year-old's upcoming wedding. "Jessa is working on all these details that she and Ben are planning."
"I really don't have a vision of how to put a wedding together," he admits, but says that in the end, whatever they decide is perfect because of the occasion.
"It is just an endless amount of details and choices. It is overwhelming. But, we are excited for Ben and Jessa and how the Lord has worked in their lives."
For Michelle, watching a second daughter get ready to head down the aisle in a six-month span has been emotional, bittersweet and joyful to say the least.
"We are enjoying spending the time with Jessa and Ben now," Michelle says. "She'll be doing her own thing and having her own family before long."
"I realize that all our lives are going to change when she gets married," she adds, "and tell her younger siblings that it will be fun, just in a new way."
That's a good way of putting it.
