Last week we learned that Kylie Jenner wants to be the "next Katy Perry."
Sources claimed she was throwing herself into writing and recording new music and demonstrating the sort of work ethic that her family isn't exactly well-known for.
At first, it was reported that Kylie's commitment to music was a result of her envy over she sister Kendall's modeling career.
Now, however, it seems she's been inspired by family turmoil of a different nature.
Insiders say that Kylie was deeply affected by the news that Kris Jenner had filed for divorce from Bruce Jenner.
Reportedly, the blow wasn't softened by the fact that her parents had been separated for over a year, as Kylie was one of the few who held out hope that the Jenners would reconcile.
Now that that ship has seemingly sailed, Kylie is expressing her emotions through song, and those who have heard her in the studio say she's got serious pop star potential.
"The girl can really, really sing," says one course close to Kylie. "Not only can she sing, but she is also starting to write her own stuff and is a pretty god songwriter."
Kylie is reportedly receiving pointers from Willow Smith and other recording veterans in her quest for a platinum album. Nothing to take your mind off your parents divorce like a five-continent stadium tour!
